The Flickering Igloo Candles is a small family-owned and operated business with a focus on honesty, integrity and dependability. It all started when I was a child making candles with my mother. Candles have always been a part of my life and a hobby I have stuck with over the years. While I have always loved candles I have never much cared for the mess of paraffin wax or the black soot I would get on the walls and jars when burning them. I have always thought to myself, that there must be something better out there! Until very recently the only other types of wax available were beeswax, and bayberry, which didn't prove for us to be much better than paraffin. About 4 and half years ago after literally tons of research I discovered soy wax. I had heard about a new wax that many of the hollywood stars were using. They were raving about it for its clean burning properties, and wonderful scent throw. I finally decided we had to try it. Soy wax can be quite tempermental to work with, and while we were not at all new to candlemaking, we were new to working with soy. There were some kinks that had to be worked out and we literally spent hundreds and hundreds of hours testing our candles before deciding to sell them. We would not sell a product that we would not buy ourselves. Every item we sell we have tested extensively and also use in our own home. The internet allows us to connect easier with customers, and is more conveniant for many of us, however, it still takes a caring person on the other end to make your overall experience here a pleasant one.
